‘He felt a little bit of pain but he has played eight games in a row. Unfortunately we had these little problems because I didn’t have Thuram, Taremi also just came back from injury and I couldn’t rotate the players. When you start eight games in a row there is a risk of injury. I hope it’s not too serious but I still have some doubts. ‘ 

Inzaghi said.

‘It will be very difficult for Lautaro to recover in the second leg. People understand that we gave everything against Roma and there were events that I don’t even want to talk about. On Tuesday we could play without our captain and that’s our final.’

According to a further report from Il Mattino, Lautaro has a strained calf muscle and will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, and it is not ruled out that he could return on Tuesday. 

Meanwhile, Inzaghi is also hopeful that Benjamin Pavard, who missed the first game due to a left ankle injury, will be able to recover in time for Tuesday’s crucial game.

‘We hope Pavard will be back next week but I don’t think we expect the same from Lautaro, unfortunately.’
